2014 New York: 2015 Subaru Outback

DSC01204 Story and photos by John LeBlanc Just in time to drive to the cottage this summer, Subaru debuted its redesigned 2015 Outback, the SUV-wannabe wagon version of the all-new 2015 Subaru Legacy Sedan. Since its debut as a tape-and-decal model for 1994, Subaru has pitched its Outback as “the adventure-ready mid-size SUV alternative provides stellar car-like handling with the versatility of an SUV”, and little has changed for 2015. Inheriting the exterior and interior styling of the new, midsize 2015 Subaru legacy Sedan, the Outback gets updated four- and six-cylinder gas engines, added safety kit (i.e. Enhanced EyeSight driver-assistance system with improved camera performance, rear radar with Blind Spot Detection, Lane Change Assist and Rear Cross Traffic Alert) and what its maker is saying is the “highest level of comfort, quietness and refinement” ever in the five-passenger, four-door, all-wheel-drive wagon.
