As per its retitled Q70/L
sedan stable-mate, last year’s Infiniti QX56 is being renamed for 2015, now called the QX80. Also like the Q70 sedan, the all-wheel-drive, full-size, body-on-frame, luxury-sports-utility-vehicle receives only mild styling updates, limited to some new front and rear fascias (primarily headlights and taillights and a restyled grille), some small interior updates and the addition of a new, topline QX80 Limited model.
Despite the new name, the 2015 Infiniti QX80’s underpinnings remain unchanged. That means it’s still powered by a 5.6-litre eight-cylinder gas engine, making 400 horsepower and matched to a seven-speed automatic transmission. The new QX80 Limited — targeted at the likes of the Range Rover Autobiography — adds smoked headlights and taillights, dark chrome exterior trim, unique 22-inch wheels and Truffle Brown semi-aniline leather seats on the inside, among other exclusive amenities and trim.
